We had a great day of fun and adventure at Cherry Crest Adventure Farm. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect! Highlights of the day included the Straw Bale Racers, Jumping Pillows, and of course, the CORN MAZE! There were many other exciting activities – see the pictures below to get a closer look into our final field trip of the summer.

To begin their study of seeds, the Kindergartners created their own Sprout Houses and planted seeds. We are looking forward to watching our seeds sprout!

Last week, Horizons at EA embarked on their first field trip of the summer to Longview Farm in Collegeville to participate in a “Seed to Snack” program through Greener Partners. We learned about gardening herbs and vegetables, picked our own blueberries, and snacked on some delicious goodies fresh from the garden! It was a fun-filled (very warm) morning. Everyone was happy to jump in the pool back at EA that afternoon for our daily swim time.

As a culminating activity, the kindergarteners and 1st graders made edible soil to demonstrate their understanding of the different layers of soil. YUM!
